Grants and Funding

Funding opportunities and grants are available to support your business goals. Our skilled grant writers can help prepare NSERC, NRC-IRAP and other fund proposals to leverage the financial support available for small- and medium-sized enterprises. Camosun is pre-approved to apply for a wide variety of funding and grants, including eligibility for grants that support industry research and development and productivity enhancements for local industry.

Grants

Engage Grants

The Engage Grant supports well-defined research projects undertaken by eligible university and college researchers and their industrial partners. A maximum grant of $25,000 over a period of normally six months will be awarded to support the project costs.

Applied Research and Development (ARD) Grant 

The ARD Grant supports well-defined applied research and development projects undertaken by college researchers with private-sector partners. Projects may range from one year to three years, funding is available for up to $75,000 per year or between $75,000 and $150,000 per year, depending upon the direct costs shared by the company partners.

Innovation Enhancement (IE) Grant 

The IE Grant stimulates applied research to address business-driven challenges and opportunities, providing funding to colleges to support the growth of applied research capacity leading to collaborative applied research and technology transfer activities with SMEs. Funding for years 1 and 2 up to $100,000 per year, no minimum company commitment; higher levels of funding require company support.

Technology Access Centres (TAC) Grant 

The TAC grant provides funding for core operations of centres established by colleges to address the applied research and innovation needs of local companies. TAC grants are awarded for five years for up to $350,000.

Applied Research and Technology Partnership (ARTP) Grant

The ARTP grant helps businesses seize new opportunities by applying innovative research and technologies or developing them into useful new products and services. A single college can undertake a set of research projects from $150K to $450K, and a minimum of three colleges can undertake a set of research projects from $450K to $1M.

Applied Research Tools and Instruments (ARTI) Grant 

The ARTI grant consists of one-year awards that support the purchase of applied research equipment costing between $7,000 and $150,000.

College and Community Social Innovation Fund (CCSIF) Grant 

The CCSIF grant supports well-defined and focused community innovation projects undertaken by college researchers with their partners from the public, private or not-for-profit sectors. Direct project costs are shared by the partner(s) and the funding agency. Projects can receive up to $120,000 per hear for up to three years.

Interactive Visits

The Interactive visit provides you with up to 20 hours of access to the equipment, facilities, and expertise of a Technology Access Centre (TAC) to solve an innovation challenge.

CFI College-Industry Innovation Fund (CIIF) Grant

The CFI Grant is used to enhance capacity of colleges to support business innovation in Canada by providing them with state-of-the-art, industry-relevant research infrastructure to foster partnerships with the private sector in a specific area of strategic priority to the institution. Up to $1 million, up to 5 years.
