March 8 is International Women's Day – The theme for 2025 is #AccelerateAction.

International Women’s Day (IWD) was established in 1911. Since then, we bring awareness and support to women’s rights and equality to celebrate women’s achievements. Whether it’s through politics, science, journalism, or sports, we will continue to lift each other up for future generations. But there’s still work to do! 

Here's what you can do to accelerate action for IWD:

• Check out the to celebrate the ideas, successes, creativity, and stories of women through books and videos from NFB.
• Book displays will be at both libraries for the month of March – everyone is welcome, and, with a Camosun ID, you can borrow materials for a four-week loan period, including magazines. 

Take time to reflect on what International Women’s Day means to you and those that enrich your life.
